Principal Business Architect, IT About this role: Boston Scientific is seeking a Principal Business Architect to support its Endoscopy and Urology divisions. This is a highly visible and strategic role that will lead the technical strategy, architecture, governance, solutioning, and digital roadmap within these business units while ensuring alignment withBoston Scientific'senterprise architecture . The successful candidate will define and implement architecture and design in accordance with architecture principles, will have a strategicmindset, make recommendations for the use of technology, support the incubation of new technology, and be able to gain the trust of key business partners. They will work closely with senior management to educate and to articulate the requirements necessary to promote architecture and overall digital goals. They will be expected to identify and recommend ways to drive more value out of the company's technology assets, design stable and flexible high-performance solutions while maximizing reuse and avoiding redundancy. Although an individual contributor role, he/she will be a mentor within the team and be required to work collaboratively across many teams and functions within the organization while being equally comfortable in technical conversations with developers and those involving business processes with key functional leaders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborates with business owners and technology leaders to draft the tech and digital strategy & solutions that aligns with the overall business objectives.
  • Leads the selection of methodologies, tools, and components of all digital solutions.
  • Helps set the strategic technical direction in alignment with the business strategy and technology standards.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness and understanding of existing and emerging technologies as well as industry trends.
  • Reviews and approves design solutions that best meet the business needs of the enterprise, with a primary focus on innovation.
  • Creates reference architecture, capability models, and IT roadmaps.
  • Works withotherArchitects to understand the enterprise landscape and make architecture decisions.
  • Aligns Commercial Architecture with the Enterprise Architecture direction.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional and technical teams to provide advice and information to global groups and serve as an advocate to promote the benefits of the respective solution.
  • Serves as a key technical resource in the creation of strategic roadmaps, strategies, and plans.
  • Communicates highly technical solutions to business partners at their level of technical understanding.
  • Enhances, maintains, and supports the development of systems throughout the Software Development Lifecycle according to the IT methodology, department SOP's, and team guidelines.
  • Creates and maintains system documentation according to the IT methodology (proposals, designs, test specifications, and other deliverables as necessary) for new and existing applications.
  • Provide end user demonstrations and support where needed.
  • Analyzes existing system landscape and tools in an effort to identify areas of improvement, optimization, and retirement.
  • Helps with solution design of business requirements and works with software engineers and architects to prioritize business requirements.
  • Support effort estimation or story pointing of business requirements.
  • Works with external groups including integration and deployment teams on technical issues; data mapping and solution delivery.
  • Supports the incubation of new technologies and capabilities. What we're looking for in you: Required Qualifications
    • B.S. or MS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
    • 8+ years of experience in system architecture/design/delivery
    • Experience with architectural domains (application, data, infrastructure,integration, etc.) with an emphasis in the business architecture domain
    • Experience in the MedTech/Healthcare industry
    • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM software
    • Deep and broad knowledge of multiple technologies with extensive knowledge of the capabilities and constraints
    • Understanding of the fundamental designs for all subsystems of a product with a specific focus on product and technology stack interoperability with adjacent products
    • Understanding of the full breadth of needs for a solution to be brought to market (infrastructure, QA, UA, security, etc.)
    • Strong negotiation/facilitation skills
    • Knowledge of current and emerging architecture principles,methodologiesand tools
    • Experience as negotiator with vendors for relevant products and services
    • Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization - both written and oral communication Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with closed loop sales and marketing
