The Rheumatology Team Lead (Director) working in the GI2 Drug
Discovery Unit will: -
- lead research programs in collaboration with internal and
external partners focused on the development of novel drug
candidates for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases

- be a strong scientific thinker with significant experience
leading discovery and development of therapies for inflammatory
and/or fibrotic diseases -
- have extensive experience developing and/or evaluating novel
small molecule, biologic or nucleic acid therapeutics - -
- support, evaluate and/or identify business development
opportunities to enhance project and/or pipeline progression -
- be a highly collaborative and energetic scientist with superior
communication skills, who can balance multiple, collaborative
projects and act as senior scientific consultant to and leader of

- Develops and oversees novel scientific projects and manages the
work of others -directly as well as in a matrixed structure -
- Leads efforts to determine mechanism of action for drug targets
and candidates using state-of-the-art methods and tools -
- Oversees the execution of drug candidate discovery and
development programs, using contemporary methods and tools in
collaboration with internal and external partners -
- Proactively identify complex obstacles to progress; recommend
and implement solutions using a diverse set of resources; regularly
add value to research projects through creative ideas -
- Manage a wide variety of tasks, techniques, and projects;
integrate these responsibilities to produce quality result with a
high level of efficiency - -
- Act as a scientific mentor -
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership - -
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: -
- PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 10+ years experience
, orMS with 16+ years experience, or BS with 18+ years experience -
in the discovery and development of novel therapies for
inflammatory diseases -
- Extensive experience leading project teams in drug discovery
from project initiation through to candidate identification and
selection in a biopharma setting -
- Deep understanding of complex biological systems -
- Superior oral and written communication skills with proven
ability to effectively interact with technical, scientific staff

Compensation and Benefits SummaryWe understand compensation is an

MAU.S. Base Salary Range:$169,400.00 - $266,200.00The estimated
salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The
actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors,
including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the
position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills,
level of education attained, certifications or other professional
licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or
from which they will be performing the job.---The actual base
salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum
wage requirements for the job location. -U.S. based employees may
be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based
employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision
